If you haven’t already heard the news, seeing your healthcare provider has gotten safer, easier, and more convenient, thanks to Telemedicine.
Granted, Telemedicine is being thrown around an awful lot in the media, but what exactly is it, and how does it work?
Telemedicine enables our current patients to have appointments with providers via video chat on a digital device, like a phone or tablet. You’re face-timing your doctor on a secure network instead of seeing them in a conventional office setting.
You may have some reservations regarding the quality of care you may receive, so let’s touch on some areas that are big pluses for Telemedicine:
• More convenient, accessible care for patients
• Better access to specialist care
• Ability to connect more frequently and conveniently
• Helps build a stronger relationship with your provider
• Easier to follow up with providers
When should you use Telemedicine?
As a new patient, your first visit with us should be in-office, but subsequent appointments can be made via Telemedicine.
Telemedicine can help with a wide range of conditions, including annual wellness visits, allergies, arthritic pain, asthma, colds and flu, diarrhea, rashes, sore throats, sprains, and strains. It’s also commonly used for the following conditions: cough, sinus infections, ear pain, and fever.
We often use Telemedicine to follow up with our patients to ensure that everything is going well after a previous visit.
